Time zooms by

I haven't had a chance to compose a post of my weekend at the coast yet (except for a few on my other blog), and here we up and took a quick trip last weekend. Who knows when/if I'll be able to do a "show & tell" about either weekend (there have been a few pix on Instagram); they'll take more time than a quick photo tour of this – what we came home to.

And it's not just the landscaping that's alive with spring. Brian and I saw crows carrying in nesting material over and over again to a tall Douglasfir in our pasture this morning. Until/unless I can capture that, here is photo of one of them taking off:

That's it for now from . . .

Oh.... what bright and cheery flowers :-) That first one almost matches a shawl I am starting to knit. We awoke to a beautiful spring snow this morning... and fog! I love fog. Thank you for sharing your flowers!

By the time of his death in February 1999,Cheap Jordan Shoes, King Hussein was well on his way to becoming one of the great peacemakers of history. From his frantic efforts at diplomacy to avert the 1991 Gulf War to his peace agreement with Israel in 1994, the urbane and articulate king of a country in one of the world's toughest neighbourhoods came to be seen as a beacon of moderateness and stability in a region known for neither attribute. This reputation was secured in 1997 when a Jordanian soldier shot and killed seven Israeli schoolgirls in northern Jordan. King Hussein personally attended the funeral in a public display of grief and solidarity with the Israeli families.

Like all great figures of history. King Hussein has also become a figure of legend. When the first king of Jordan,Air Jordan Shoes, King Abdullah. was assassinated at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem in July 1951, his grandson Hussein was by his side. By some accounts, he was hit in the chest by a bullet, miraculously deflected by a medal worn on his uniform. On succeeding to the throne on 2 May 1953 at the age of 18, the youthful. British-educated Hussein was known more for his love of pretty women and fast cars than any great political skill. He went on to marry four times and sired 11 children.

They had two sons. Prince Hamzah and Prince Hashim. and two daughters. Princess Iman and Princess Raiyah.

While King Hussein was active on the world's political stage, his loyalty to his people w as also well regarded. In a role emulated by his son decades later. Hussein would disguise himself as a taxi driver and ask passengers what they really thought of the king. In November 1958, Hussein, a trained pilot,Retro Jordans, flew his air force plane towards Europe for a vacation only to lx* intercepted by two Syrian fighter planes who sought to force him dow n. He escaped back to Jordan, adding to his already growing legend.
