It's been a whirlwind couple of days. Other than capturing yesterday morning's brilliant sunrise, I've pretty much had my nose to the grindstone, getting two of the three waiting newsletters done between work, homeschooling, and homeschool co-op. It has been hard to concentrate with all the noise, though. Besides Brian's class lectures on DVD, there has been a steady whine of chainsaws. The lot to our north finally sold, and we've been told the developer is having every tree cut down. See that lovely wall of green firs?
I don't even want to think about our pending loss of privacy and what that view will look like soon, much less how many birds and beasts will be displaced by the destruction of their habitat. Sad sigh; would that we could have purchased that lot.
Time to start another back-up of my computer and head to bed. I need to crank out the third and biggest newsletter tomorrow if at all possible, regardless of what is going on around me!
That's probably it for awhile from . . .

Super sad sigh :-(
Are you sure there is nothing that can be done? If it is to be a development, you can request a hearing from the planning board and lodge a complaint I would imagine. Might save at least a few for privacy..
Doesn't it just make you furious and break your heart at the same time when builders do that stupid stuff? My blood pressure would be up for months over something like that. Sorry you're being subjected to construction stupidity.
Oh Michelle, such tragic news about those trees!! I am so sorry for all the reasons you've mentioned and also for the beautiful trees themselves. Some people make such stupid, selfish decisions... :(
Change is hard and I sympathize - when I lost my stand of Blue Spruce to Cytospora Canker my heart broke wide open.
Gorgeous sunrise!! He's cutting down ALL the tress? What???? Hate to see that happen.
Very sad regarding the trees. We had a similar thing happen to the trees south of us. It really changed the skyline. And all this because of development. At least the eagles remained. I guess we adapt as we have to with 'progress'. Your property is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the sunrise. Have a good weekend.
The guys cutting down the trees told Rick, "Well, you'll have a better view without the trees." Grrrrr!
