Tomorrow the Tour de Fleece starts. Fortunately I'll just be spinning wool, not wearing it or pedaling a bicycle. I might even get to spin at the beach; ah, what a delicious thought! A group from church is going to caravan over together after potluck. Rick can't go because he's on call, but Brian and I just might – the forecast looks PERFECT!
Here are my goals, tools and teams for this year's TdF:
Browning's 2012 fleece and my HansenCrafts miniSpinner for Teams Footloose, My Favorite Sheep, and Spin Your Stash |
A 4 oz. bump of wool/alpaca and one of my spindles for Teams Jenkins Turkish Spindles, Spin Your Stash, and Romi (Hill) |
On your mark, at . . .

Thank goodness no spandex required, LOL, today's temp was 107, tomorrow is predicted to be 110 and 112 on Sunday.
Put misters out for the sheep and angoras for today, going to run buy couple more tomorrow a.m.
See ya on the tour.
Spinning at the beach! That sounds wonderful. I will TdF in spirit. Haying starts today (I hope). We will be in the 90's the next several days. I'll spin a bit in the evening.
Love Browning's fleece.
Michelle,
OMG, thank you for that link. I must have tried every natural product out there all with dismal results.
Hot as all get out here too. I want to find where they keep that big switch. :)
Have a wonderful Tour de Fleece!
Now wait just a minute. Doesn't the mini spinner count as "performance enhancing?"
;-)
Not anymore than a multi-harness loom or a Featherweight Singer! ;-)
I've been happily surprised, Theresa! Hope it works for you, too!
We need to get hay, too; maybe Sunday. Ugh.
I'll try to blow some cool coast air down your way today, Audrey!
I love that mini spinner... I've never seen one of those, well, being new to all this I guess there is a lot I haven't seen yet! :D
OMGosh, spandex is so not on the list of things I would wear! LOL! It is not as hot here in New Hampshire, yet, but we make up for it in humidity... it has to be at least 2000% humidity right now... you break into a sweat if you blink! :D Spinning at the beach sounds divine!
Have fun my friend...
Hugs,
Beth
you're going to have your hands full but will have a lot of good to show for your efforts when finished. I wish you well, Michelle.
