We have some lovely new residents on the hill this year – Eurasian collared-doves.
These so-so photos are the best I've managed to get of these shy birds. While not native nor as hauntingly beautiful to the ear as mourning doves, I am still enjoying the sight and sound of them very much.
In sheep news, I spent some quality time with the chocolate twins this morning. I think Bittersweet is going to be a push-over. :-)
That's it for today from . . .

I love doves. Used to raise white doves and they breed like rabbits!!! lol
Kelly, many years ago I had a pet white dove named Noel. She was so sweet; I think that's part of the reason these new residents appeal to me so much! I took some video this morning to capture its coo; I'll see how it turns out and add it to today's post if it's okay.
The doves are so pretty! I love lying in bed on a summer morning, listening to the mourning doves. Would be interesting to hear these doves.
Ask and you shall receive, Lael. Check out the video in my next post!
Glad to see you've finally got some doves around your place. We have several and love their sweet song.
Strangely enough, this is also the first year I remember hearing mourning doves around here, too.
