This morning when I went down to ride Larry, I heard music. I peeked through the stalls and saw Brian walking around the arena playing his fiddle. He is in "cowboy mode" because of our horse-camping trip this weekend and told me he was going to take his old violin along; apparently he couldn't wait until we arrived at the campsite! Sorry for the shakiness; I took this video surreptitiously to record the event. I was pretty tickled to see him playing on his own initiative!
Shortly after I shot the video, Brian decided to go out into the pasture and serenade the sheep; Larry was watching all this with great interest. Or maybe it was worry, since he was unusually spooky during our ride!
Wishing you a happy holiday weekend from . . .

Oh Michelle, what a wonderful mama thing to catch! Isn't it sweet to see the child of your heart taking steps down the path of your efforts? What a lovely young man he has become. Blessings mama!
Yes, it was sweet - a nice little return on the investment of time and money into violin lessons! Thank-you so much for your kind words. :-)
How wonderful that Brian wanted to play with no outside encouragement.. it shows he really loves it! And how nice he was playing "fiddle music!" Have a great weekend!
It sounds like you are going to have a great weekend, with the perfect entertainment!
That is some "Ten Gallon Hat" he is wearing there. Have a great weekend with the fiddle player.
Love it!!!!
Next he'll discover the wonder of playing next to a mountain stream. :)
What an absolute blessing that you were there to capture Brian on video! He's getting SO BIG!!! I'm impressed with how well he's playing his violin. You must be very proud of what a fine young man he's growing into!
Have a wonderful (and SAFE!) weekend
He loves fiddle, although he wouldn't probably admit to loving to play it if you asked - ha.
We'll see if he actually plays up there, or gets too busy playing with his friend!
He has the big belt buckle to match. :-)
I thought you would like that, Wanda!
Thanks, Nancy!
Your little cowboy sounds pretty good! I think the animals must have enjoyed that as much as I did :-)
Ah thanks, Jody!
That is just wonderful! What a great sight to see!
