Dozer
10/10/09 (Gotcha Day) – 11/10/19

"First time ever I saw your face..."

The beginning of our story here.

Last photo, taken two days ago:

Dozer had a good run for a bully; he was around 11 1/2 years old. But a crisis took us all by surprise this morning. It has been a very sad day.

I'm very sorry. They just never live long enough.

Feeling your great sadness upon reading this. Even though we know the end is near, we never, ever want it to happen. You know you gave him a wonderful life, but the loss still hurts so much. Sending heartfelt hugs to you all.

I am so sorry. 11 1/2 is very old for an English Bulldog. And he lived the perfect life. A beautiful home, beautiful outside, dedicated and loving family and a vet for a "dad." All dogs should have such a wonderful and loving support system. My "grand dog" Meathead, an English Bulldog, lived to just about 12! He had epilepsy and was on increasing meds most of his life. We really were amazed that he made it to 12 - but good loving care allows dogs to live out whatever their life years should be. I will miss seeing his pictures.

Hugs!

Thanks for sharing our sorrow, everyone. We knew it was coming sooner or later; at least it was crystal clear this morning that the time was NOW. A good friend came over with her eight-month old flat-coat retriever pup, and Jackson interacted surprisingly warmly with her. I think it helped him feel better, as my friend's visit did me.

Oh, no, Michelle, I am so very, very sorry! Thank heavens Rick was there to help. I know things won't be the same for a while.

I'm still reeling over the loss of my Cooper just 3 weeks ago. Tears for your family and a quick prayer for help for us to remember the good and treasure the memories.
