Monday miscellany and contest call-out

Some of this is snowmelt, but most is rain from the last week
Brian's latest project: campsite with firewood "shed"

Now for the lambing contest. My lambing season could stretch out for four months or more; that's a looong time to wait for a contest to end. So instead of seeing who guesses most correctly the end stats, let's see who predicts the inaugural event most accurately. I think it's safe to say Annabelle is going to lamb first. So leave a comment on this post with your best guess as to when (the date) and what (number, sex and color) Annabelle will deliver. (I'll have Brian draw a name if there is more than one correct guess.) The winner can choose an 8"x10" print of the first photo in this post, or a hat, headband, or scarf knit by yours truly (your choice of item, not pattern; color preferences considered). ETA: Contest closes on February 24 at midnight.

Fair warning: if you correctly guess a boy or boys, I may include a rotten egg in your prize package!

It's high time for ewe lambs at . . .

You are going to have so much fun...with lambs, including little girls! I love your photo of the horses. Let's go for March 18th and a ewe.
What's next on your knitting projects?

Okay, let's see... March 24th; and a little ewe too. (Fingers crossed for you (ewe!))

Thank you for your comment about my knitting. I wish I were half as talented as you!

No rotten egg please, phew!
Michelle it is always a delight to stop by and check out out your photos! We are having as much rain as you unfortunately (ex-RAF flyboy looking for those Ark blueprints!!).
I know nothing of sheep (cute but a bit smelly doesn't count, right?) but Winter has been rough on everyone even the animals so how about a little earlier this year?
20 March, beginning of Spring? No boy or boys (obviously!) but I'll say two and girls...
Thank you for the lovely opportunity and all the best,

Wonderful pictures in your post today. OK, for fun I'm going to make a guess. February 28th, 2 ewes. Color - the same as in the picture at the top of your blog.

In this am's comment I neglected to include a color, I'd say cream.

Feb 27 is my son birthday so it will be the date I'm picking... twins ewes ( just to avoid the egg) and moorit. Anyway I hope you'll only get all ewes.

I'm going to say a single ewe lamb, March 1st (it's my niece's birthday, and she gets to name my first lamb of the year). White like her pretty mommy.

What has Annabelle given you in the past?

So far there are only eight entries, so that's pretty good odds for a prize, ladies! ;-)

Debbie, I'll show my current knitting in the next post. And if you want more horse photos, you can follow my other blog (link in the right sidebar), although there is a lot of talk of training there as well.

Thanks for telling me how much you enjoy my photos, Noelle!

Sue, you'll have to research the answer to your question about Annabelle's past lambs in my blog; I'm not giving any additional hints. ;-)

Okay someone already picked the two dates I had in mind, I'm going to think positive -- twin ewes, March 18 (my birthday) - color brown and cream
