How to keep your whites white

Keep 'em covered! This morning I switched Dinah's wardrobe from a size E Rocky Sheep Suit to a size F. The E is in the washing machine now, and will go on poor little stuffed sausage Bramble as soon as it's dry.

The assorted dahlias I planted in the island bed are bloomin' their little hearts out now. I just wish I'd planted two or three times as many! I have got to get my order together for Swan Island Dahlias (right next door to OFFF!) this winter, so I can use my gift certificates and plant the tubers at the proper time next spring.

I'll have to watch this guy and his cohorts, though.

Who's zoomin' who?

Sorry for another earworm; that song was on one of my old aerobics tapes and it popped into my head when I saw this photo of Brava sniffing Braveheart's bum!

I'm still doing the sheep suit shuffle, trying to get everyone in the right coat size. I think I need one more E, but first I'll check what Dinah is wearing. If she's in an E, I can put her in the F I just took off Braveheart and put the E on Bramble. If not, I'm going to send the other G I have back to Rocky in exchange for an E.

Braveheart is in a size G suit now, which is a lovely shade of "3rd cutting orchard grass green" and a bit too big. The trade-off for having to do the periodic "suit shuffle" is getting a look at the fleeces underneath the coats, and Braveheart's fleece, as always, nearly takes my breath away. It is so incredibly consistent and crimpy all over, lustrous and has a wonderful hand. If I didn't have the cold, hard numbers to tell me he microns over 30, no one could convince me! (The last photo showing larger crimp was taken behind his flank.) Now I don't think crimp is the be-all and end-all in fleece, but it IS eye-catching and produces a lovely, elastic yarn. I still have some of Braveheart's roving from this spring's clip available for purchase, BTW.

New month; new look; no news

What can I say? I'm not really in a "pink" mood, but couldn't find a template I liked better.

No news around here - yet. Still waiting to see if that special "face" will become a part of my life. My MIL arrives tomorrow night for a visit. I've been too busy with homeschooling to start a new fiber on the wheel or do much knitting - or anything else! And today I learned that my husband has had a little "problem" for awhile and scheduled a doctor's appointment for Monday to check it out. Maybe I picked a pink template because I'm subconsciously willing that my husband will be declared "in the pink," with nothing to worry about....

The sheep have been rather obnoxious lately. The two ewe lambs are still in "lock-down" and unhappy about it. Browning has decided that he'd rather be on his own than be in with Braveheart and his two ladies - and those ladies aren't too sure they want to be with Braveheart, either. Yesterday, for the very first time, Blackberry seemed to be taking an interest in Dinah even though she was playing hard to get. End of February/early March lambs from her would be great!

No word from the owner of the local poll-carrying ewe on whether she's willing to sell or trade, and I'm still awaiting micron test results on the lambs.

The weather is decidedly cooler; 'tis the season for polarfleece and hot drinks and wood fires (if we had any wood). I am definitely "in a mood," and trying to slog through until it passes. It would be nice to have a few loose ends tied up (in the way I am hoping) like the lacing on the template!
