Keep on truckin'

Showing my age here; does anyone else remember this era?

I have to admit, though, that my associations are more aligned with the following than with the Motown hit of that name:

Anyway, it feels good to be posting a little more regularly again. Yesterday morning I scanned through my posts, and saw that I only managed three posts per month May-July. Those were the last of the difficult months, with Dad's death and service and getting back into the swing of things here at home again.

Yesterday's (first two photos) and today's (third and fourth photos) air quality in layman's terms? Murky. This is the worst it's been all year, but the smoke/smog will be quickly banished with the weather moving in tomorrow. Rain! Soon everything will be rinsed clean and start greening up.

In the meantime, the deck color has been outstanding. I'll miss this:

Geranium with Japanese maples; intense!
Parting shot:

I think that's it for 'summer' weather at . . .

I have an app from the EPA that tells you air quality. It's called AirNow. It's been very helpful for me. If the air quality is poor I know I'm at risk for an asthma issue. I think we are about to have our last warm weekend, here. I'm using it to sand and paint three pieces of furniture!

You're not the only one who has been a "slacker" in putting up new posts this summer. You shouldn't feel badly about that at all considering the circumstances you've been dealing with. I could give you many personal excuses for not staying on the blogging beam, but they would only be . . . excuses which I can't even give much credit to. I guess there's a time to stay up with posting and reading blogs and a time to put other things first. ;o) So it goes.

A, my iPhone weather app gives me the AQI. I didn't even check it, since I don't have asthma and I no longer ride my asthmatic horse; I just know it was BAD. This morning I could see the valley again – even Mt. Hood, faintly!

Reading blogs is like getting a newsy letter, so I always keep up on that, Mama Pea. And I do like to blog, it just takes more time and brain power than I sometimes have. But I can't imagine quitting for good!

I love the geranium flowers - especially the ones that are two toned. I didn’t do any deck flowers this summer.

Yuk, that is nasty air quality! Hope it clears up but you don't get damaging storms in its place.

I'm glad we're finally out of smoky skies. I'm enjoying the rain we're having now. Love your flower photos!

I looked through my blog roll tonight and see that almost all of them are inactive. I've wondered many times if I've retired myself or if I'm just on hiatus. Social media, like everything these days, is in a state of flux. I found myself reading Facebook more but it's transitory and it too seems to be losing traction with me. I seem to have returned to the old standard with my free time - checking out books from the library. Pondering....
