Last night I got an email about the weekly special at a local nursery and gift shop – $1.00 off 4" herbs; woot! I stopped by after work and scored two pots of curled parsley (what's summer without tabouli???), three pots of basil (one basil and two lettuce-leaf; pesto!), and a cherry tomato called "Purple Bumble Bee" (how could I resist that?). (The "Sweet Baby Mix" pepper plant was procured and planted earlier this week.) This evening when I went to the garden to plant, I was delighted to see bush beans and snow peas emerging.
That prompted me to check out the rest of the garden, snap some photos to share – and eat "dessert."
I know the garden honeymoon will end, but right now I'm flush with good feelings!
That's it for now from . . .

I've got lots of unripe strawberries, but we haven't had enough heat over the last week to get things kicked into gear. I'm hoping to beat the chipmunks to the strawberries this year! Looks like lots of good eating in your future...
We've been cooler here, too, which I am enjoying while I can!
Oh my goodness! Fresh strawberries already! Wow. We had frost late last week and I keep having to bring the hanging baskets in. There was frost warning last night but we didn't get it. Another warning for tonight. I am really hoping that is our last frost warning until late in 2018! My peas are doing well and resisting frost damage so far.
You're definitely up north now, Claire!
