We DO still have sheep here....

My little breeding group of (from top, yesterday at breakfast) Dinah, Valentine and Rechel along with Braveheart has been together for over a month now. They are enjoying the fall sunshine and falling maples leaves. I know it must be my imagination, but Rechel's tummy appears bigger already. Well, she IS the one I'm betting got bred first. When lambing season draws near, I will have to borrow an idea from Lauren and run another contest, this one based purely on luck so everyone has an equal chance at winning. I just pray I can find a home for Bella before then!

That's it for now from . . .

It's amazing how large they get. I think they show immediately and then towards the end, they grow exponentially each day. It's amazing. I eagerly anticipate your lambs to come.

Some of mine look pregnant too. Are those sheep jackets canvas?

A friend takes her daughter to a neighbors house to be babysat; last year when I had the sheep covered the little girl got the giggles as they were driving by, about the silly sheep with coats on :)

The girls are wearing Rocky Sheep Suits in the regular (not light) weight. They are made of a very durable nylon-type material. Love 'em!

What type of treats do you feed your sheepies in their individual pans?

Beth, I give them a little bit (a 15-oz. can for four sheep) of 14% protein All-Breeds sweet feed (no copper added) twice a day. I call it my "invisible halter," because I use it to lead them out to their lot in the morning and lead them back into their fold at night. Works great!

I still think it would be fun to paint big numbers on my sheep's coats, just like the Serta sheep. My husband always says that he is going to sell advertising space on the coats since we have part of our fields by the highway.

I still want Bella!! Did you check with the bus station to see if she could take a bus to live with me? I am sure no one would mind a sheep running up and down the isles of the greyhound bus.
