Happy capture

I took a lot of pictures, but just one of them turned out. Sometimes one is enough. ;-)

Riding the momentum

Hot on the heels of the Tour de Fleece, the Jenkins Woodworking group on Revelry started up a Fall Mini Spin-Along, or SAL, with alpaca/llama as the theme. As hot as our summer has been, spinning is a lot more appealing than knitting (I have to have SOMEthing to keep my fingers busy!), and just as portable with a Turkish spindle. So I dug around in my stash for some batts a blogpal sent to me years ago, six ounces of 70% black Shetland/25% grey llama/5% icicle top (the shiny stuff), and started spinning at the coast. It will keep me occupied this month as I cool my heels at the county courthouse; I report for jury duty bright and early tomorrow morning.

That's it for today from . . .

A perfect repast

When a certain food satisfies, I can happily eat it for days on end. Such is the sandwich that has been hitting all the right notes for over a week now.
Just three ingredients – homemade bread, Kerrygold cheddar (nabbed for a song at Grocery Outlet), raw snow peas from the garden. YUM. I restrict myself to one a day because of the cheese, otherwise I'd probably be eating these for breakfast, lunch AND dinner.

Wanting to end with something sweet and cold today, I grabbed some of our frozen Bing cherries. Sorry, no pretty pictures; I et em!

A perfect respite

I spent seven hours on the deliciously COOL Oregon Coast with my guys today, and it was heavenly! We worshipped in an outdoor amphitheater, enjoyed a potluck lunch, did some birdwatching, walked up and down the beach splashing in the shallows (Brian and me), and watched windsurfers, surfers and kite-flyers doing their thing.
