My insurance plan

The meteorologists have been predicting significant rain this weekend, as in more rain than we had in the entire month of May. In other words, we need it! Just in case the forecast needed a little help, I watered the garden last night and this morning. It worked; a gentle rain started mid-afternoon!  ;-)

It progressed from a few tiny raindrops on my first Ketchup & Mustard rosebud of the year to drenched daylilies.

After the horses were out in it awhile, I decided to bring them in before the footing got slick.

It is cool enough this evening for Jackson to enjoy some lap time – but he wouldn't tolerate being packed around like Brian did Gatsby (note the ever-present toy in his mouth). Gatsby needs to get re-aclimated to rain; he's headed back to Kauai in less than a month!

we're hoping for some of that rain here today. Boy, Lance really has turned into a super chunk! :-)

We're hoping for some needed rain today, too. (But only a 50% chance, they say.) Garden soil is dry again and I'm back to hauling the hose around. Hope we both get what we need in the form of a gentle soaker!

So far, Saturday is turning out totally dry. Maybe more rain tomorrow, but so far it's turning out to be a good thing that I watered the garden. :-/

I was hoping no one else would notice, Theresa!

Lovely to see the daylily blossom! It will be a while before I see mine but they have quite a lot of foliage now.

Claire, I have three other varieties that are much farther behind the little Stella D'Oros.

Wasn't the rain fabulous?! I was so happy to see it; the air smelled so fresh and sweet, and our gravel road was rid of the dust; at least for now.

I love all your photos!
