Yesterday we had to put down this girl, the sheep in my header. She had ongoing health issues for years, and this winter/spring she got really thin. But I was supporting her with soaked alfalfa pellets top-dressed with rice bran pellets, and she was strong and interested in life. A totally unexpected crisis occurred, though, and there was no way around the inevitable. RIP, dear Bramble. Your shepherd will miss you.

Sorry for your loss. It is always hard to loose them. But know that you gave her the best life by giving her the extra care that she needed until the very end. May she be with the GREAT Shepherd in spirit.

Oh Michelle, I am so so sorry. Peace be with your old best girl as she makes her home now over the bridge. Hugs go out to all those she left behind. It just sucks losing such good fur friends.

I'm sorry Michelle...like you mentioned, eventually they all break our hearts. I think they're worth our tears though, considering all the joy they bring us while they're with us. ((hugs))

Oh my. How sad. We just had to put down our cat Max. He lived till he was 11 years old. Eight of those years he lived with degenerative kidney disease that we managed with prescription food and subq fluids. The vets always were amazed he lasted so long. It was hard to let go. I am sure that is true of your dear sheep. This one seemed to be a looker.

Goodness, so sad....I can't imagine 2 losses in a row like this. Keeping livestock can have such a difficult downside. Wishing you some joy just around the corner.
