Let me tell you 'bout...

. . . the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees, the moon up above and the thing called love.

Except that I haven't seen any bees. :-(  There are hives in the area cherry orchards; I hope the residents find our fruit trees!

As for the thing called love, it comes in many and diverse forms. From veterinary care,
to a special bag of candy. Thanks, sweetie!

At loose ends

I've used this title before, but when it fits, it fits.
Loose ends in handknits are easy to deal with; loose ends in life less so.

The extended family situation we've been dealing with since January continues to drag on.

Parenting a teenager challenges me mentally, spiritually, and physically; I'm hoping this book a co-worker loaned to me is helpful:
The compromised health of my "mental health mustang" weighs heavily on my mind. Unconvinced that we have a correct/complete diagnosis, I did some more investigating today. Another veterinarian has raised a new – and terrifying – possibility.

And I am still waiting on two ewes to lamb!

Distracting myself with sky shows:

Pretty feathers and flowers:

And lovable lambs already landed:

No Easter Bunny

Oh well, "Bunny" wasn't a name I was going to use this year anyway! With no new arrivals, I had to content myself with Brigitte, Bardot, Bogie & Bacall . . . and Brigitte. ;-)

The place got a lot of spiffing today. We started the burn pile, then kept feeding it with more prunings and winter debris. Then while Rick mowed, I walked the middle and lower pastures with a shovel, eliminating thistles and tansy while the ground is still soft. (I still need to walk the hardest upper pasture, which is bigger and has longer grass.)

We had a lovely service at church yesterday (we rest on the Sabbath as Jesus did in the tomb). Tomorrow Brian leaves with all his high school for a school week here. Maybe we'll have a new addition by the time he gets back.

Calgon, take me away!

It's been one of those long, hard slogs of a week as a mom; how I would love to escape to the coast again. Our church's annual women's retreat was full of knitting, walking, worship, chocolate – and one of the prettiest ocean sunsets I have ever experienced!

And on the drive back last Sunday, we listened to the soundtrack from Menopause: The Musical. ;-)
