I meant to do a post on our hike to Cape Lookout last Sunday, but life – and weather – got in the way. When it's too hot my brain melts, and when we get a break from "too hot," I have to kick it into overdrive to get things done. But here are the photos now; a refreshing look back at an incredible outing!
There are two more trails that we could take from the trailhead, so I look forward to going back – as long as we don't take the winding backroads that always make me carsick. 😳 That's why we came back via Highway 101 and 18 – and were able to see the stunning sunset.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming at . . .
WOW! That is some gorgeous scenery! Got a little woozy looking at a couple of those pictures with Brian standing so close to the edges!
ReplyDeleteWow, that was a wonderful photographic tour! I think my favourite picture is the one of the fungus on the tree - I'm intrigued at the way that the pictures of the waves kind of echo the scalloped shapes in the fungus. Great pics of you and your family as well!
ReplyDeleteA week late maybe but what a glorious time you all must hav had. Love the Chi backpacker. We have a white faced one just like it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh my kind of hiking, when we used to hike together - my husband and I. Reminded me of some trail at Arcadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine, my favorite place on earth next to Alaska.
ReplyDeleteI am not good with heights anymore - and seeing your son so close to the edge made me a little anxious. He seemed ok, however! ah to be young again.
HOW did Brian get up in that tree? Is there a secret ladder in the back? As always, lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spot!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos! I'm missing the ocean so much right now! Your flora, fauna, and people photos are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI could not go up those cliffs, I have vertigo, I just could not, but the VIEWS! Wasn't Brian scared???
