Better times

The plan was a post of "flowers, feathers, and Fair Isle," but before I could make that happen, other "stuff" happened. The only one I can share is this: Welsie our nine-year-old Welsummer died today.

    Oh Michelle, I am so sorry. 9 seems old for a chicken, not that the years make one iota of difference when much loved member of the family passes. Hugs to all and we'll light a special candle tonight at Runamuck.

    We've had chickens make it to 5-7 but never as old as your good hen. Sending hugs and wishes for better times to come for everyone at Boulderneigh.

    What a sweet photograph. It's obvious that you provide your hens with good, loving care. I've got one 9 year old girl that keeps perking along, but I'm always waiting for her to keel over. So far, she's outlasted a lot of younger girls. Hugs to you for all of the rest of the 'stuff'.
