We're experiencing a second premature blast of summer here. Today was supposed to be the worst of it; we were well into the 90s. But I'm excited to see Mr. Brownjeans take shape, so I knit on. Yesterday I knit in the shade while Brian jumped his bike,
and this morning I took these progress pictures:
I'm pretty tickled with myself for learning to cable without a cable needle on this project; what a time-saver! I'm even more proud to have successfully tackled my first cable surgery. I didn't get a photo of the mistake (I stopped cabling a section and didn't notice it until about five rows later), but did think to snap photos during surgery and afterwards:
I might make a real knitter yet! ;-)
That's it for today from . . .
Good job on the cables, hope to see the finished project.
ReplyDeleteWow, I applaud your talent!
ReplyDeleteIf you can do surgery on cabled knitting, you are a real knitter! Congrats on that!! I really like the pattern and looks of this sweater. VERY NICE!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat Nancy said. I discovered once that I had "lost" the bordering twisted knit stitch on a diamond pattern about 6 inches down... There were cables all around it. I did "surgery" and after that, there were no boundaries...
ReplyDeleteYou are so much braver than I - I don't know that I would have been able to retrace my steps and fix a problem. I usually frog it all out and start over.
