Japanese maples, bejeweled with last night's rain:

Sarai and Nightcap. Well, there's Nightcap –

but where-oh-where is Sarai? She was nowhere to be seen in the Ram-ada Inn or the lot,

until I moved into the woods. Ah, there you are!

See what I mean about her keeping Nightcap at tree's length? Sigh.
