Cozying up

Mothers and sons:
They're always your babies, no matter how big they get

Preferred nestbox:
At least they are laying!

More wire wrapping:

I didn't want to my new 'skills' to get rusty, so I did these two last night. I can see now by the light of day and the magnification of the camera that I need a lot more practice and/or another class – plus better lighting and/or stronger reading glasses with which to work!

My friend in Saipan is going to bring me a whole bunch of goodies when she comes home for the summer; I'm so excited! The beaches there have an abundance of shells and coral skeletons on them, and when I told her about taking the wire-wrapping class, she immediately started collecting for me.

That's it for today from . . .

  1. I think your wire wrapped shells look excellent! Good job and so nice to see you using your creative talents in other ways although your spinning and knitting endeavors are beautiful.
I feel like grabbing a coat and curling up in the straw with those handsome sheep. How is your lame girl doing?

    1. Bottom left and top left are the same shell, different sides.

  3. I'll be in Hilton Head, South Carolina in a few weeks...I'll keep my eyes out for you too :) I'm an avid morning beach-comber, it'll be kinda fun to be actually "looking" for something.

    1. Hey, thanks Stephen! If you want one of your finds wrapped and sent back to you, I'd be happy to do that.

  4. The wrapped shells are wonderful. Very clever. And I had to laugh at your chickens. Reminded me of mine!

  5. Funny chickens! I have a friend whose chickens ignore the nest boxes and come into her porch ( she leaves the door open for them) where they lay their eggs in a box. Very handy!

You're doing a great job with your wrapping. Like the one with the gold beads in it!
