After following Deborah's link and seeing the bib style, I decided they would be much easier to get on and off and more comfortable to wear than the "full suit" style I have, so I hopped over to eBay to see if I could find any deals. There, in an auction ending within the hour, I found a pair of pink Schmidt insulated bib overalls. The reviews on this brand are enthusiastic, so I watched, waited and pounced at the end to win them. I can hardly wait for them to get here! The wet system we are experiencing at the moment is not a cold one, but it will be so nice to have warm legs during colder-time chores. Should save some wear and tear on my clothes, too. As for the color, the animals won't give a rip if I look like a giant pink Jet-Puffed marshmallow, and I don't intend to wear them anywhere else!
As for the whinnying, the other day I took an online quiz and for once got the perfect result:
You're a Horse!
Versatile, powerful, and true, you have quite a reputation for hard
work and a certain unbridled spirit. Many look up to you as an example of what
people can really become, though somewhere deep down, you admit to feeling a little
bit broken. You hate racing, but are still exceptionally good at it. Beware broken
legs, dog food, and glue. If your name is Ed, you do a surprising amount of
talking.
Take the Animal Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.
That's it for now from . . .
You gotta be tough to wear pink!! I love my pink (I prefer to call it "raspberry") Carhart Jacket. I have 3 pair of insulated overalls - one red, one green, and one brown. They do save lots of wear and tear on one's clothes - especially at lambing time.
ReplyDeleteI took the quiz, and I'm a Human - it's not very complimentary. Maybe I should try it again...
Every fall I think I will get a pair of insulated overalls, I got to the stores and look at the prices and say to myself "I have lots of layers at home, why do I want to spend all this money on overalls?" So then late January comes around and it is 5 degrees with a strong north wind and I go looking again. But now all that is left are the 2XL and 3XL sizes!! So maybe I will take the plunge as well and fork over the money. (my layers are wearing out)
ReplyDeleteI also took the quiz, and as no suprise to anyone and everyone that knows me, I am a horse!! :)
I'm sure it should come as a surprise to no one that I'm a.....cat! Even though I was..surprised though. ;-) I used to have callouses on my knees when I was little, Michelle...my brother thought I would never walk like a normal person, instead of some four legged critter! Hope you enjoy your new overalls! I need to get some too. My coveralls are so bulky (and old)--and scours brown-- that I usually just opt not to use them, then freeze.

I did a post on my pink coveralls 2 yrs ago and I love wearing mine, even off the farm. They are a great conversation starter esp with "die-heart" brown coverall guys;)
ReplyDeleteHappy I could provide some positive inspiration! I just bought the pink ones for my daughter today!
ReplyDeleteIt's never occurred to me to get insulated pants - hitting palm on forehead. I've just pulled on my longjohns and then the outer pair.
ReplyDeleteI love my carhards.. they keep me so toasty warm. You will look tiggeriffic in pink..
ReplyDeleteta ta for now..from Iowa
I remember your pink overalls, Kristi! You were part of the inspiration, along with Deborah!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow - I am a sheep!
ReplyDeleteI'm a horse too. Didn't see that one coming!
