Hello, darkness, my old friend

You've come to talk to me again!

And provide a stunning contrast to some of the lighter colors:

That's all for now from . . .

  1. Hope you are just talking (er, singing flowers) there Michelle. It's a beauty, but hope the darkness stays away for awhile!

  2. Oooo is that Queen of the Night? Beautiful, I always love the black flowers! I need to get me one of them!

  3. Just flowers, Tammy, although the song is hauntingly beautiful (love S&G!).

Rayna, I don't know the names of most of my iris, since they came from a neighbor's "dividing exercise." That black one sure is striking, though; isn't it? Hard to get a decent photo of it -- just like black lambs!

  4. Michelle! I would LOVE some 'dividing exercise' methods used so I can get a small sample of each of your glorious irises! I'll make sure to bring some of mine for you as well!

  5. I've not divided mine yet, Garrett, so I don't know how or when to go about it. Can you educate me? I'd need to tie some strings around the ones that are plentiful/crowded to know what colors they are after the blooms fade. There are TONS of rust and yellow (both solid and bi-color; less of the others (and only one of that gorgeous black beauty).

  8. Hi Michelle - I do like the black iris, but the one that caught my eye was the peach colored one. I just started crocheting a hat and scarf for my great-niece, and the yarn is that same color. Thanks for sharing your beautiful flowers with all of us.
