I'm all for freezing weather as the rain as left it a boot-sucking mess around here. I cannot remember how many times I've walked out of my boots because the mud has held fast. Needless to say, I despise getting my wool socks muddy -smile-.<br />Many thanks for visiting Thistle Cove Farm and for following; I am Most Happy to return the kindness.Thistle Cove Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15722295191884810953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-11663822712566909652011-12-28T14:23:28.987-08:002011-12-28T14:23:28.987-08:00Unusual Wisconsin winter so far. All is gone now except on the north side of buildings and hills. I've in much colder, hotter, drier and more humid climes than here over the years, and I have to say I'll take Willamette Valley weather over all the others ANY day!Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01550786937196525098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-35507617093521065852011-12-28T13:07:50.547-08:002011-12-28T13:07:50.547-08:00I certainly enjoyed our cold dryspell, just can...I certainly enjoyed our cold dryspell, just can't bring myself to say anything nice about the rain, the wind and the mud. First rainy day and Harley had a full blown battle with a fence...took out about 60 feet of fencing and 3 steel T-posts bent over. Poor guy, sure wish I could figure out a way to keep him from harm. :( But, I'm thankful the posts were capped and it wasn't any worse. I got in a ride yesterday morning before the downpour started; maybe if it pours for weeks on end I won't feel quite as bad about Russell leaving.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01550786937196525098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-5294782996492933432011-12-28T11:56:52.004-08:002011-12-28T11:56:52.004-08:00We've had a very dry December - there is no sn...We've had a very dry December - there is no snow on the ground. We have had NO RAIN in this part of California for the whole month of December, but 17 days at least below freezing, the orange groves have been using their wind machines nightly trying to save the oranges from freezing. Forecast is still for no rain for rest of the month, the small amount of rain in November got the grass to sprout but there is no green left since the grass has frozen, even the surrounding hillsides are still brown. I had hoped by now the Dorpers and the Cows would be on pasture and not needing to be fed hay. Hay stack is dwindling fast.Tombstone Livestockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07022776395762826903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-80767846627014272562011-12-28T10:47:37.274-08:002011-12-28T10:47:37.274-08:00Its a bit damp here as well :-)Its a bit damp here as well :-)An English Shepherdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17538962642970952214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-55764409702780462692011-12-28T10:38:14.049-08:002011-12-28T10:38:14.049-08:00Our water table is currently so high that yesterda...Our water table is currently so high that yesterday the sump pump in our well house came on and sent GALLONS flowing out and down the driveway!Mary Annhttp://www.calamityacres.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
