I have always loved libraries for the books, the learning, the sharing. I am sorry to hear it and hope it can somehow be reversed.
MaureenMaureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11723919084808968853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-38796835584901638702017-01-15T10:27:54.928-08:002017-01-15T10:27:54.928-08:00Theresa, Mokihana, FFG, and Lisa; I, too, can'...Theresa, Mokihana, FFG, and Lisa; I, too, can't imagine a childhood without books and libraries. I think bloggers must read at a higher percentage rate than the average population, and contributes to how many kindred spirits I find in blogland. Perhaps a decline in reading and the number of people who value libraries is the canary in the mine of our world?Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01550786937196525098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-77607797891599968292017-01-15T08:01:54.613-08:002017-01-15T08:01:54.613-08:00Oh dear, that's terrible news... We'd hop on our bikes and ride to the Los Altos Library in Long Beach, California with our bike baskets full of books to return. We'd always check out the maximum number we could get, and look forward to choosing more. I loved the way the books smelled, and the library was such a wonderful place. It saddens me to think of all the children that will never have that experience.

Your cake looks lovely! Isn't it wonderful how Bundt pans can turn a cake into a work of art!

Warm regards, Lisa in Lake OswegoLisa Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17325602859641802032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-27276024256372486602017-01-14T14:15:40.474-08:002017-01-14T14:15:40.474-08:00Oh, I can't even believe this. DH is to the library down the hill at least once a week to restock his reading material. Doesn't anybody read books anymore???

I love holding a book in my hand, love the feel, the smell, the history of a used book.

My heart hurts about this.Mokihanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11504052259244873399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31671898.post-79068699730319859402017-01-14T02:48:34.696-08:002017-01-14T02:48:34.696-08:00Sigh...I don't think I could have gotten throu...Sigh...I don't think I could have gotten through my childhood without the looking glass, the tollbooth, secret gardens, and a whole host of characters and ideas that populated my mind even to this day. I love to read. I can't remember a time ever when I didn't have a stack of books on the nightstand even though it is a kindle one these days and my newspapers are accessed digitally, but they are still read.
Nice Dog and his boy pic! ;-)Theresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09574936988046982209noreply@blogger.com
