From autumn to Christmas!

This morning was a bit of a replay from yesterday. I'd done morning chores, including feeding Chuckie, and gone back to the house. Before going in, I decided to take a photo of an errant bit of candytuft blooming amid the fallen leaves.

That's when I realized that Chuckie had followed me to the house, so of course I sat down on the front step and loved on him for a bit.

While Rick went on a distant veterinary call and Brian was at his Sunday morning job, I did some of the cleaning that didn't get done Friday. Rick called on his way home and asked if we were going to get a Christmas tree today. Welp; I hadn't been planning on that, but this was about the only day we could do it – and it wasn't raining. So we drove to the other end of our lane and cut a Noble fir at the neighborhood lot. It's not as tall as we've usually gotten, making it much easier to carry, place, and decorate. We moved my recliner so we could still use the deck door to let the dogs out and access the bird feeders – and didn't do any other decorating; quick and simple!

Now to get our Christmas letter written and envelopes addressed – and make some Christmas cookies. 😋

That's it for today from . . .

Looks like you had some pretty leave color, ours dropped early. Love your tree, you did a pretty job.I even more enjoyed your windows I would be looking out of them all the time. Have a wonderful day.

You are far ahead of me on the Christmas Tree thing. Yours looks lovely.

Lovely tree. Sometimes I miss having a real tree but since I like to have it up for a considerable period of time we go with an artificial. Had a fire scare with real greenery one Christmas so I'm really leery now. It's time to dig ours out from the downhill garage. Chuckie looks like a pure love.

That is such a pretty tree! I'd love a real tree, but it would be taken down in minutes, so I just make do with decorations here and there. Chuckie is such a doll...

Kiss Chuckle. Lovely tree.

Oh Sherry, I DO enjoy our windows! Having BIG, east-facing windows was a priority to me when we designed and built our house.

Well, like I said RK, it was Sunday or never, so early it is.

I can understand why you're 'tree-shy,' FFG. I'm a lot less enthused now after having three big trees crash, losing many ornaments with sentimental value.

Is Slimmy a climber, Susan, or would the dogs destroy it?

Several times a day, Goatldi. ;-)

I would have said just about everything the others said... Lovely tree! Beautiful windows! Etc., etc., etc.!

We don't have a fresh tree, because two of the three of us are allergic to them. (Tisn't me!) So we have a small wooden cut-out that hangs on the wall. It has twinkling multi-colored lights, rusty bells and red ornaments, also some small garlands.

What a bummer about allergies, Jeanne. But your wall tree sounds really cute!
