Happy Moonday!

This "harvest moon" has been spectacular coming and going. I only had enough camera-power to capture a tiny fraction of the lunar action:

The sunrises are not only at a convenient time for maximum enjoyment at this time of year, clouds and fog add to the beauty:

This hummer waited impatiently for the photographer to go inside

We're still getting some produce from the garden:
Chocolate orange zucchini cake (and zucchini fritters) for supper tonight

But it's cool enough to enjoy cuddling with loved ones:

Can you tell this is my favorite season?

That's it for today from . . .

'Tis my favorite season, too. I am so ready to be done with outside tasks! Made a fire in the kitchen stove this morn. 35 degrees as an over night low. No sign of frost from inside looking out.

We got almost that cold two nights ago, Mama Pea, and I was thinking I should have stripped my basil plants!

Mokihana, the inspiration recipe is linked below. I tweaked it by using whole wheat pastry flour, organic sugar, no nuts, a rounded teaspoon of instant coffee granules, orange oil in both the cake and glaze, and no orange zest. It's delicious – much like those chocolate oranges you can buy around Christmas!
