Cowboy Campmeeting 2017

We had wonderful weather throughout our trip:
Mt. Hood on the way

Approaching Mt. Adams

The perfect campsite was waiting for us:

Close to the meeting tent
Close to the stock tank
On the edge of a beautiful, grassy meadow

The dogs are always happy to go along:

The wildflowers were gorgeous:

I got in four wonderful trail rides:
Not me, but representative

The view from the meeting tent couldn't be beat (the music and the speaker were excellent, too):

The Tour de Fleece started:

Brian got in lots of "boy time" (oh, the dirt!):

The kids put on a wonderful 4th-themed parade:

There was singing 'round the campfire:

And even an onsite romance:
Jewel the mule fell madly, deeply in love with Zacchaeus the Sicilian donkey;
listen to Jewel honk for him on my Instagram account (link at right)

And the trip home yesterday was blessedly uneventful.

No matter how good an adventure is, though, there's no place like home. Thankful for my own bed, indoor plumbing, being able to check in with my blogpals, and routine – among many other things!

That's it for now from . . .

Sounds like a beautiful relaxing unplugged time that was much needed. Wonder how the long distance romance is doing between Jewel and Zacchaeus. Out in the open air did Lance improve at all?

What a gorgeous spot for your get-away! I've said it before, but you do live in a beautiful spot of our country. The wildflowers that abound there . . . wow!

What a heavenly spot! I bet it was good for your battered soul. I'm with Mama Pea - you do live in a beautiful part of the country!

Oh, what a great trip you had! I'm so envious of enjoying that glorious location. I'd love to be back to someplace like that.

I'm afraid the love between Jewel and Zacchaeus will be unrequited, Theresa. ;-) Lance did well, although I don't know if it was "better". I'll do a post on Dances With Horses as soon as I can.

And I only posted SOME of the wildflowers I saw, Mama Pea! Maybe I'll do a post showing the others.... Yes, it IS beautiful in the Pacific NW; I love it here.

It was good to be there and now good to be home, Susan.

Thanks, Sara; I'm thankful!

Come visit, FFG (and the rest of you)!
