and working in – and eating from – the garden.
This morning I picked a bowlful of white currants before it got too hot. I thought I'd picked most of them before Cowboy Campmeeting, but I could have filled a bowl TWICE this size!
The snap peas are keeping us in fresh vegetables while we wait for other harvests. I've also made one big batch of pesto from our basil, and used a few turnips.
Keeping the soaker hoses going at . . .

How did I miss you had 3 dogs. I knew about the sheltie and the bull dog (my personal favorite, you know :-) ) !!

Beautiful currants! My four-legged lot resemble rugs in this weather. Lovey basks in the sun, while the rest of them find cool, shady corners.
Your garden is amazing....I'm so envious. We can't have a garden like that in this climate - the season is soooo short. Summer to me is remembering the garden I used to have in Iowa, and then feeling sad about it. I'm hoping to have some raised beds next year which might help a bit. Your spinning is lovely too!
Summer for me is getting to read outside accompanied by birds, butterflies and the sound of our water feature. It doesn't last long and I try to squeeze as much out of it as I can.
All good things! Lots of outdoor activities says summer for me, the furniture on our deck, the swimming pool, riding my horse more than usual, walks with my dogs, camping, shorts and flip flops, popsicles...so many wonderful things!
RT, the chihuahua is from work; my boss asked me to help find her a home when her owner had to go to a dementia facility. I couldn't find anyone to take her, so she's still here!

We have our gardening challenges here, too, Claire, but have learned over the years what works and what doesn't. (Tomatoes are borderline....)
I'm so glad summer DOESN'T last longer, Sharon, but it does have its blessings along with its additional work load.
