Evacuation-ready

Just before 10:00 tonight, we got a call requesting prayer for church members under Level 2 evacuation orders. This afternoon a forest fire erupted at the west end of our county, uncomfortably near their home. I told Rick to call them and offer accommodations should they have to evacuate . . . and learned that they have five dogs and cats as well.  =:-O

We hung up and went into high gear, cleaning the downstairs guest room and scrubbing out crates. Then we realized that the husband may not be able to navigate the stairs; we might need to replace the linens in our bed and bath so they stay there.

We just got the call; they are on their way.

I've been saying that it sometimes feels as if the whole West Coast is on fire. Those fires are getting mighty close to "home."

That's it for now from . . .

Wishing you and your friends well. This must be a scary time for everyone: may God protect you, your friends & their animals, even if property is damaged. God bless xx

Michelle, Sympathies that there are new fires erupting.
We spent a good long while last year on Level 1. Bless you for opening up your home. We didn't need it last year, but those offers of a place to stay for us and the animals meant more than I can say.
And good lord, we don't travel light with 9 dogs 2 cats, 2 goats and 2 horses....I think we all need to brush up on our rain dances!

Take care of yourselves.
Wonderful of you to offer your home to help.
It has been a difficult time with forest fires all up and down the West Coast.
Hope some rain comes soon!

Oh wow . . . when I lived in SoCal, we used to joke that the seasons there were Brown, and On Fire. Not really a joke, and I'm sorry it's happening so close to you. I'm also sorry these friends' home is in danger - it is so kind of you to take them in for awhile.

The fires across the river from Chelan (up McNeil canyon) came just a few miles from our homestead house over in N Central Wash. My nephew Ben is fighting the fire up by Republic and my sister's nephew is fighting the fire up by Twisp where those three fellows were killed. It's just coming too very close to home this year. I hope things go well for your friends! T.

Michelle, prayers and safety for your family and your friends and the firefighters! I know all too well what you are going thru. Be safe! Be ready! And should need be, don't forget to take your spindles and some knitting. Knitting got me through our two evacuations. I hope Mother Nature brings the area light rain very soon! Please keep us updated.

Praying hard for you and your neighbors; how good of you to take them in. This fire season is so awful, scary awful. I pray for rain, for safety, for protection, for all of us and our flocks.

I hope this finds you and your neighbors safe and sound. My husband was working in Amity yesterday and was telling me about the very smoky air. This morning we woke up to very strong smell of smoke and the sunlight looked orange; very different-looking. Everyone on high alert; I can only imagine. Bless your heart for offering your home to your neighbors. Praying for your safety . . .
