BRRR!

What a way to end a year! We're having our second cold snap of the season, this one combined with a stiff wind that makes it feel even colder. Guess I could think of it as nature's air compressor, cleaning out all the dust and debris of 2014 – yeah, that would be a good way to look at it!

I'm tempted, like many others, to say "Good riddance" to 2014, for it seems to have had more than its share of trouble. But I don't want to minimize all the blessings God has bestowed on us, so if I find time to do an end-of-year recap, it will be a list of blessings, not a recitation of woes.

That's it for now from . . .

Michelle - While I am ready for this year to end, I agree that it held more blessings than ills. Just to have made it through with everyone intact and healthy seems like reason to celebrate! Our 'warm' lull is over, too and we are back to arctic temps. Brrrrrr is right! I hope that 2015 is a wonderful year for you and yours.

I agree Michelle! I'm excited to begin another year anew, but there's been many wonderful blessings and adventures in 2014. Sorry about the birdie...

Michelle, It is very cold here, single digits overnight.
I'll be happy to boot 2014 to the curb. While there have been a couple of true blessings, on balance the sorrows this year might have outweighed them. That's the way it goes, some years are good, some not so much. :)
Best to you and yours for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015!

Good for you, Michelle... and don't feel badly... we are at 13 right now and going down to 4 or lower tonight. Brrrr is right! Happy New Year!

Another cold day/night here as well. I guess the trade off for now is a bit of sunshine. Nice picture of the hummingbird. Love the window feeder.

Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year!

Yes, we're all fortunate to have a home and family. There is a homeless couple parked on our road. We have talked to them and tried to help some. They say that they are blessed because they have a small camper and a truck. They know others who are under bridges and living near creeks tonight.
This weather is cold and windy, but we are very lucky to have a warm place to live. Happy New Year.

It's chilly here too! I need to put my thick socks on. I think we often remember the bad things and forget the good things, so it's good to look back and remember blessings. Wishing you and those you love a happy 2015
