I'm going with Serenity

My husband brought home roses for me last night!

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
—Reinhold Niebuhr

I'm post this just before dashing out the door for the retreat. Sarai has not started labor; I'm going to leave her in my husband's capable hands . . . and pray she doesn't lamb until Sunday afternoon.

Actually, Marta is the one I'm worried about, but I'm leaving her in Rick's hands, too. She obviously doesn't feel well, and little wonder; she still hasn't passed the afterbirth. She's on antibiotics and has had a shot of Bo-Se. She's not eating much if anything, even that lush grass when out on pasture; Rick is going to give her some B vitamins this evening. Whatever happens, I'm thankful little Miss Blaisie has gotten several days of colostrum.

That's it for now from . . .

I hope you can relax and have a good weekend retreat. And that all goes smoothly while you're gone. Don't worry about anything. There are capable hands at home to take charge!

Michelle,

Enjoy your trip, your husband will hold down the fort. Everything will be just fine.

Lambing / kidding are some of the most exciting times but also some of the most worrisome. It's fortunate you have such capable hands to leave every sheep and lamb's care to.
