Of blogs and bottles

I follow a lot of blogs, keeping up with new posts using Blogger's Dashboard reading list. Thus, I don't always notice right away when one of my blogpals stops blogging, or I think "It's been a long time since I've heard from so-and-so" when I'm away from my computer but forget to follow up when I'm back online.

For awhile now I've missed seeing any posts from Leigh of 5 Acres and A Dream. I thought I remembered seeing a comment of hers on someone else's blog mentioning that her husband had lost his job; was she following the old adage of not saying anything if she couldn't say something nice? Yesterday I again saw a comment of hers on another blog, and followed her name back to her profile and from her profile to her main blog (hot-linked above). Lo and behold, she has been blogging all along; I'm just not getting her new posts in my reading list! So in all my downtime (which has been very scarce today, both the "time" and the "down") I've been catching up – and am just in time to get an entry in for her book. While I do not have the willing partner to do anything like what she and her husband are doing on their five acres, I love Leigh's approach and all that she shares about their lives, and would love to win a copy of her book. If you'd like a chance to win, too, go HERE and follow the directions. (Or don't, so I have a greater chance of winning! heh)

Now you'll have to excuse me while I heat up a bottle of milk replacer and take it down to the lambing jug. Dear old Annabelle's production doesn't seem to be up to snuff, but I think the crisis is over. (I'll blog about it when I'm SURE it's over!)

That's it for now from . . .

So sorry to hear that the two lambs are rams, with hornbuds and now Annabelle's not producing enough milk for the two of them. On top of everything else you're dealing with bottle feeding lambs round the clock is not what you need! Good thing Brian's getting old enough, lamb feeding might need to become a "paying" job for him>
Hang in there!

I will not hurt your chances if winning her book because I already purchased it and am half way through reading it. I life her blog too. :-)

I bought Leigh's book off Amazon last year. Even if you aren't interested in living as independently as they do, it makes great reading. If you don't win, think about buying a copy.

I have Leigh Ann's book, I ordered it two months ago and have not finished yet because life is like a speeding train here and I can't seem to get off. I can tell you that one third of the way in, it's VERY GOOD.
