Pickin' with porcupines

I had to cry "Uncle" and switch to DPNs on the crown of my Toque, Yo!, as the ends of all but my 16" size 2 Addis are too long for Magic Loop. Knitting with DPNs feels like trying to hold a porcupine to me. :-/ Only 20 more rounds to go. To paraphrase my mother, "I can do anything for 20 rounds."

That's it for now from . . .

Beautiful. I love double points.

I agree with you totally regarding four needle knitting. I'm always sticking the end of a needle somewhere hurtful! And don't feel the least bit coordinated when dealing with them.

Love your toque. Black and white are always so striking.

Contrary to what our mutual 'sister', Melanie feels, I cannot deal with dps. It's like I'm all thumbs and quills. I have to say that that is one gorgeous toque. I may have to knit one up myself...

Just think of it as adding a new skill to your toolbox. I often get asked how I can knit with dpns, to which I reply, "I'm only using 2 at a time." I can knit with 2 circs, have never mastered "magic loop" and am pretty darn fast with dpn's. I think it's just what you learn on! Hat looks great!
