A one-two punch

Yesterday I learned that a friend of mine, someone I met at our homeschooling co-op who later moved away, has died. She had battled breast cancer but I thought she had it beat, as has everyone else I've known personally. This morning another woman I know passed away from the same disease. She and her family built a local dressage landmark, a world-class facility at which I've been fortunate to compete many times. In fact the photo at the top of my dressage blog was shot at DevonWood Equestrian Centre.

My world feels a little wobbly today, and I now feel compelled to participate in next year's Relay For Life. I will be walking for Joyce and Ginny.

That's it for now from . . .

Oh Michelle ..... too many wonderful women have been lost much too young. Relay for Life is wonderful. We participated in it for many years. I am so sorry -- friends are precious.

Michelle, my condolences; no matter how long we have to prepare, death is always a surprise.

How sad, Michelle. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, and my heart goes out to their families. There is so much more that needs to be done to eradicate cancer.

I'm so sorry. It's the way of all things and yet the one passage that we find the hardest.
Wobbly is OK... it shows that you have a caring heart.

I get a bit wobbly from the same type of thing, and I think it keeps us grounded to care deeply for others when things get rough. My heart goes out to you with the loss of your friends. That never gets easier, you just have to find a way to get past it, every time. Hugs Michelle.
btw-I hate that blasted "C" word, I don't even like to say it.
