Sticks and stones

One of my first posts talked about the "boulder" in Boulderneigh. Well, today I'm here to talk about sticks. Because trees+boy+dog=sticks . . . EVERYwhere! I'm constantly walking by, over or around them outside, and moving them out of the way inside. I guess I shouldn't complain. They are free, and do a lot to keep Jackson and Brian occupied.

On Brian's bathroom floor

On the dining room table (amidst the clutter)

Installation just outside the arena

Could have named the place Stickneigh instead of. . .

Sticks and boys and dogs definitely go together! I put a stick in my granddaughters hand as we took a stroller ride down the driveway. The boys always would drag it on the side of the stroller. She just looked at it as if to say "what am I suppose to do with this?" and then dropped it!

Love your pics of sticks "everywhere"!

Excellent fort, Brian!

I must be a throw back somehow, I was always picking up sticks as a young girl to throw, using on my walks or giving it a toss for the dog. Sometimes I'd just have it so I could give things a good whack with it...trees, garbage cans, or bushes were always easy targets.
Love the fort, that Brian is going to be an architect someday.

That installation shows a lot of creative talent! I have never met a stick that a dog doesn't love. Our black lab growing up would drag big branches around.

They are everywhere around here too! Apparently it will be awhile before they grow out of that. :)

You don't need a boy and a dog to have a yard full of sticks. Well, maybe for that fort thingy :-), but all you really need is a London Plane Tree (a Sycamore). . . It's stick-o-rama all the time at my house :-D
