The sheep went over the mountain...

Katie left today, headed east over the mountains to the place she has called home most of her life. Lois of Stonehaven Farm thought Katie just might carry a poll gene and let her come to Boulderneigh. After producing three nicely-horned boys here, Katie is going back to Stonehaven. Farewell, lovely lady!

Katie's departure marks the beginning of the Great Sheep Shuffle of 2011. By the end of the month, the Boulderneigh flock is going to look quite different!

The latest iris to open, bedazzled with raindrops from an overnight shower:

This squirrel was perched on a bough just outside my office window yesterday:
Jackson actually managed to catch and kill one of our beautiful silver-grey squirrels a few weeks ago. I hope he doesn't get any more!

That's it for today from . . .

Thank-you, Dr. Momi! I have to admit, the brown-toned flowers are not my favorites, but they were free and still beautiful.

I have to say, I'm impressed with the length of that squirrel's tail. You sure don't see any like that around here.

How can he kill a squirrel? It is so cute and small and harmless...

The squirrel photo is really nice. Love the colors and textures. Was just thinking,I don't think I've ever seen any squirrels on our property. Lots of birds, but no squirrels.
