Let the lambing contest begin!

The magnificent moon on Friday night inspired me to take "moon shots" of the four ewes who were in my breeding group last fall. The information provided in this post and the following photos are your clues. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to guess how many ewes will lamb at Boulderneigh this spring, and the total number of lambs which will be born here. Include in your guess how many will be ewe lambs and how many will be ram lambs.

Annabelle:
Katie:
Bronwen:
Bramble:
I used CIDRs (hormone implants) in all four ewes to time estrus. FirthofFifth Barish was in with them October 14-18, and Boulderneigh Blake was used as a clean-up ram October 30-31. No breedings were witnessed.

The contest starts now, and entries will be accepted through March 2, one week before my lambing calculator says lambs are due. The winner will receive a sheepy applique quilt wall hanging, made by yours truly.

Let the guessing begin at . . .

My guess, 5 lambs out of 3 ewes. Really just looking forward to healthy bouncing lamb pictures. Not that ewe butts aren't okay but....;)

Hmmm... I'm thinking 4 out of 3 ewes, 2 ram lambs and two ewe lambs...

I want to see lots of bouncing babies. My guess would be six babies from the 4 ewes even though Brambles doesn't look to be as wide as the rest, maybe she just keeping her girlish figure and 4 ewes and 2 rams. Have a great Sunday!

I am guessing 5 lambs out of 3 ewes - 4 ewe lambs and 1 ram lamb. All of them happy and healthy! Enjoy your 'me' time!

I have no idea :-D But I'm going to guess that there will be 5 altogether and they will all be girls! I was going to guess 4 will be baby girls and 1 will be a baby boy, but someone else already guessed that :-)

The contest is now closed; the 13 of you who guessed above are in! I hope to get started on the quilt today; the winner will have to let me know if you'd rather have 6 oz. of the dark espresso "mystery roving" shown in a more recent post instead of a sheepy wall-hanging. Now I can go back to posting photos of the girls. :-) I'll do a post soon with my own guess!
