Breakfast in bed

Yesterday morning Inky was bedded down when I added hay to the ewes' feeder. She was still bedded down when I came back with chick feed and her morning grain ration; usually she's up by then. I decided to just serve my grand old dame breakfast in bed.

Hey! Why aren't you serving US breakfast in bed?

Silly spoiled gully girls!

Inky was up last night at chore-time, so no crisis; she was just having a hard time moving the old joints on a chilly morning. I'm glad I didn't give in to her hormonal urges or my own temptation for more lovely lambs; carrying a load would have made getting up and down (and moving around) so much harder for her.

Speaking of last night, did you see the full moon?

That's it for now from . . .

It was a beautiful moon, wasn't it? :-)

I love your blog and to see pictures of all the sheep.. My joints hurt this morning too, coffee in bed would of been nice.
The full moon last night was spectacular... When it came up it almost looked like the sun setting. I went outside and took pictures..
The ring around the moon is the ice crystals that has formed because it's so cold. I called my sister that lives in South Carolina, she said her moon didn't have the circles.. LOL...

I agree! This cold has wreaked havoc on my old joints, too. Now, if I could just train the dogs to bring me breakfast in bed...

The moon was spectacular last night! It slowly came up over the hill as we were doing chores and my dog, Tess, started barking wildly at it, which was very strange and out of character for her.
It was so bright with the moon shining on all the new snow that it was almost like day time here.

I'm missing the full moon. The skies have been cloudy for days and more on the way. Glad Inky was okay.

I remember bringing "Buddy's" food and water to him while he was laying on my bed when he got too sore to move around comfortably. I'm glad that Inky's discomfort seems to be transient. I can't imagine losing a ewe....

I was too sick to venture out but did notice that it was very bright out last night. 'Moon Shadows' in the pasture!

Happy to hear that Inky is ok and just needed a little pampering :) How old is she? The full moon was so pretty last night (beautiful picture), to go along with the full moon we had a chorus of owls talking to each other...very fun! I was hoping the full moon would spur the girls into action and we would have babies this morning, but no.

Nancy, I don't want to face losing Inky, but am committed to keeping her to the end and giving her a good life while I can. She has given me four nice lambs - and had 15 lambs before that!

Shannon, Inky will be 10 years old in April. This will be the first spring she hasn't lambed; she's had a demanding life.
