Room with a view

Yeah, that one. Spent several hours there today.

Kudos to the Interior Decorator; beautiful use of natural colors!

The views are very restful.

I can even see the ram lot!

It was a perfect spot to spindle away the last of our heat spell. (I plied the black on itself and am now working on the medium brown; Fair Isle here I come!) The weather is already changing; clouds are sailing over and a cool wind has started blowing. For the next five or more days, we are supposed to get cool, grey mornings and sunny, mild (low 70s) afternoons - perfect!

That's it for now at . . .

What a cool treehouse! I've wanted one since seeing Swiss Family Robinson as a kid...

I love Brian's treehouse. It is Brian's, isn't it? *wink*

Ah yes, Heather, it is definitely Brian's. Sitting on and leaning against hard boards is not my body's idea of relaxation (standing to spindle was better), but until the walls are done Brian can't go up by himself. Thus, I go, too.

I'll have a treehouse one of these days. And speaking of spindling, if you haven't already seen this YouTube video, you should.

If the link doesn't work, search zucchini spindle on YouTube

What a great little hideout. Looks like you're really getting into the spindling- Do you prefer it to spinning on a wheel?

No, Denise, I can't say I prefer a spindle over a wheel, but I probably like them equally now. The spindle is so portable (and inexpensive!), I can spin on it a lot more places than I can my wheel. But there's no beating my wheel for greater quantities; I love being able to get 8-10 ounces on one Louet bobbin!

Glad that your weather is cooler now! I hope ours here in NC will be soon, but it is still in the 90's here and so awful humid. I haven't done much spinning this summer. They say we have had a record 49 days of over 90 degree temps. Enough is enough!!

It's 73 here where I live in Iowa. and sunny and a great day.. No humidity.. I love it because for 3 days now I turned off the AC and opened the windows.. That should help the electric bill..
Tree houses are so wonderful.. When the kids were home we used to have a treehouse down by the creek behind our 40 acres.. The kids would have sleepovers with their friends.. They would build a fire and roast hotdogs and make somemores... They put their pop in the creek to keep it cold.. Those were the days and what life is all aboutin making memories.
I've always dreamed of having a small cottage behind our house and use it for a getaway...Have a great day.. and keep using that treehouse.. it's got a cool few.

Very cool about the tree house. What a fantastic thing for a kid to build with his dad. Obviously placed in a great spot too.

Nice views indeed, and I envy your cooler temps. I loved the tree house some cousins of ours had as kids.
