Garden and iris update

Katie grows uncomfortably larger; the little wethers are feeling somewhat better. There are sheep many miles away that I would like to see at Boulderneigh, but so far they haven't sprouted wings. Shall we turn our attention to the latest iris debuts (I think these are the last) and the garden?

Some of our salad greens, with a volunteer red potato plant peeking in on the left.

Five kinds of potatoes in two rows.

Our cruciferous veggies (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower) in front, with invisible carrots and very visible radishes behind.

Our peppers, onions, and the shorter of two rows of Royal Burgundy bush beans.

Our six tomato plants; at least two more are needed.

Brian's strawberry patch.

We are getting quite a bit of rain today, with more predicted through the weekend. What a good boost that will give our garden! Now if my dahlia tubers would just sprout.

That's it for now from . . .

I love all the colors of your Iris - the purple being my favorite. They are all gorgeous :)
My Mom gave me a very deep purple a couple of years ago. I'm anxiously waiting to it to bloom.

I always love to see the PC NW and try not to be envious. Had my parents not "emigrated" I would be posting pictures like yours too. I admire Brian's strawberry patch. I'm sure he's quite attentive - for now.

Your garden looks great! The iris are very pretty - The Shepherd lost ALL of his expensive Japanese Iris to last years freeze and this years RABBITS! He is very bummed out. T.

You should SO make those iris shots into note cards!

Too funny! Seeing vegetables growing from seed out of the ground! I can plant beans and carrots by seed but nothing much else, everything is started from seed in the house months before then put out in the raised beds this week and next! Our soil is too cold, too hard, too shallow - most places on the farm the soil is only 8-10 inches deep at best. So raised beds it is, or else the greenhouses. Love seeing your rows out there!

Aw shucks, MollyBeees!

Suzanne, I would LOVE to have raised beds, but my "Midwestern Farm Boy" thinks gardens should be grown IN the ground. (So sorry Blanche is driving you nuts!)

Oh to live back in the Pacific-West!! Your garden looks divine!! I haven't even planted mine yet and today??, well, it decided to SNOW again! I am happy for the moisture, but the Shetlands are not very impressed! heeheehee
