Pedicures

After the trial that was last week, this week started out much better. We got a lot accomplished on our respective to-do lists today, as well as talking via phone and email with our friends whose daughter was bit. We can be thankful for so much, not the least of which are our wonderful, gracious friends!

One of the things on my list was long-overdue pedicures for the sheep. I pulled out my sheep stand, nippers, and Bramble, and went to work. After doing her near side while she stood on the stand, I decided it would be as easy to tip her as it would be to turn the stand around to do her other side. After seeing me struggle to do her and Bronwen, Rick took pity on my wimpy hands and stepped in to help. After doing a couple himself, he decided the problem wasn't my wimpy hands but dull nippers!

While Rick went to the garage to sharpen them, I waited in the fold. Katie is my new best friend:
Fawn, white, moorit, black; some day I'm going to knit myself a Fair Isle cardigan from yarn I've spun from my own colorful little flock!

Rick trimmed all the rest of the sheep for me after sharpening my hoof nippers (except for Katie and Blackberry who had been done earlier); he even got down on his knees to do old Inky standing so she could be as comfortable as possible. What a guy; I think I'll keep him. :-)

That's it for now at . . .

He sounds a real find! I hope Jackson and surrounds have all calmed down. The sheep look long-suffering!

I can't wait to see that sweater. I have similar dreams myself. :)

What type of sheep coats do you use Michelle? We are seriously contemplating them for our flock after shearing at the end of the month. Thanks in advance for any info you can share!
