Sheep in sunshine

Okay. I couldn't give you just a pet peeve today; that wouldn't be "brightening my corner," as the old children's song goes. It is a beautiful day outside, our first dry day all week. That means my first opportunity to work Russell, and while I did that, I let the ewe group out in the lower pasture to get a taste of grass and stretch their legs. From left to right: Brava, Dinah, Bramble, Bronwen, Inky, Browning and Katie. Things look sedate here, but for awhile there was much frisking about by nearly everyone. Browning and the two yearlings were the most playful; silly wether!

That's truly it for today at . . .

GRASS? You have grass? Is there any land for sale near you? (she asks while starring at the blizzard occurring outside her window)

Oh yes, Christine, there is land for sale around here. But be prepared to liquidate the retirement account. Trust me, if it was affordable, we'd have more than five acres!

Oh. My. Word. Look at that green. It won't look like that until May or June here. Not even close. All I see is white. And dirt on top of white. Sigh.

Oh, I hear ya on the price of land. It's out of control here, I can only imagine what it would be like in a place where there is actually grass in February. :)

Wow..looks like a summer scene! Hard to believe it's the dead of winter. Same gripe here as the others mentioned...alternating snow and mud....Thanks for the reminder that Spring will come eventually.

Oh, I sighed so loudly when I saw your spring flowers. I so need to get to the West coast to enjoy spring - soon!!

I'm jealous of the grass and flowers. Hoping for some here in April. I'm glad you got time to work Russell.

Seeing your green grass just reminds me that under all the snow, the grass is there - just sleeping until it's safe to come out.
Thanks for sharing some "spring hope" with us.
