Wait for it...

...spring is coming!

Hyacinth and daffodil shoots near the front door.

Daffodils in the island bed.

Andromeda flower buds.

Yellow croci ready to pop.

Sarcococca sharing its heady aroma.

Snowdrops in full bloom.

That's it for now from . . .

um...did you even HAVE winter? I think you had one post of slush one day and that is it. Our temps havent gotten ABOVE 30 degrees since Dec 5. We are 'thawing' out this week in the 20s after having below ZERO for highs the past three weeks. I'm ready for spring but my bulbs won't even peek out of the ground until mid-end of May!

Ah Garrett, that is the beauty of where we live - this IS winter! We don't get snow every year, and I'm not sure it has been as cold as zero in the 20+ years we've lived here. Some people can't handle the grey skies and rain, which is the bulk of our winter weather, but it doesn't bother me. Just makes those days when the sun breaks out that much more spectacular!

I just noticed my daffodils and hyacinth bulbs popping up...kind of scares me. There has been snow and freezing in February before. But the big thing is the deer love to lop off the tender buds before they even open so I had better be protecting them soon. But I have been loving some sun lately.

Oh eeegads!!! The only flower buds I have coming up are those bulbs I chilled in the fridge for months and have planted in pots on the windowsill for blooms in the house! We just got 5 inches of snow today and it still hasn't stopped. I don't expect to see any spring blooms until May! LOL! You're rotten Michelle!!! HA!

Good Grief! I can't even begin to think about Spring! I've been a New Englander my whole life and can't really fathom having the kind of weather that you're having for this time of year!

I'm reasonably sure I said this last year, too, but geez, you have flowers and it's JANUARY :-D

I'm all excited because we're having a heat wave here - it's going to be in the high 30's today!! Woo Hoo!!!

You're right, that is very different from our winter. :) We are getting a treat today - it is above freezing for the first time in weeks!

Wow, you have signs of spring already! You are so lucky. At least we had a warm outside day today. It got up into the lower 60s. That means spring won't be far behind. (I hope.)
