Seventh sunrise

"Creation's seventh sunrise; we stand before the burning bush of time...." Wrong day of the week, but the colors of the sunrise this seventh day of January brought Michael Card's lyrics to mind.

So how has the first week of the new year treated you? We've all been battling colds, with Rick's being the worst. We're still waiting a call from the insurance adjustor. I've got two projects on the needles - and nothing on the wheel. We put away the indoor Christmas decorations and carried out the tree this morning. Lois told me that the ewe I'm getting from her was bred on Monday. (June lambs? I must be crazy!)

That's it for now from . . .

Beautiful!

End of May lambs up until the end of this week according to my Pipestone lambing wheel.

Blackberry's almost out of a job!

Beautiful sunrise pictures. A mixed bag for the start of the year. On one hand a great visit with my parents. On the other my grandmothers funeral which I couldn't attend as I am over here. June lambs will be fun to watch in the nice weather.

Thanks, Franna; May lambs sound SO much saner than June lambs, even if the difference is only days!

I hope we can get the new Ram Ramada ready to move into this Sunday, so Blackberry has a place to come home TO.

Lovely sunrise, was this a shepherds warning?

Gorgeous skies - good to see someone has 'em. We're now in about the 6th week of gray with snow still on the ground. I'm going to be climbing the walls by February! But our health is good, at least.

Finishing up the painted wheel project today and looking forward to sitting in front of the fire all day tomorrow - doing some spinning and some knitting. Wonder what will happen to keep that from working ;-). Super cold here - 6 this morning.

Hi Michelle,
How is your ewe lamb? I never saw advice come your way on the list. One of my my ewes irritated her eye on hay feeder the other day and it got a little weepy and cloudy...I flushed it with warm water and put some ointment in and it looks much better today. Could she be irritating them on your feeders? I am putting more on the ground for all of them due to the incident. The feeder seems to hit that one ewe just right if she has to reach in too far as it begins to empty. Just thought I would share...in case it could be helpful to you.

Really gorgeous sunset!
Insurance companies: Grrrrr!
We're in a big freeze here in Scotland, what's it like now with you?

Wow - gorgeous sunset! We're surrounded by snow dunes and it's really, really cold! Minus 7 right now, w/wind chill minus 27. But no snow falling - at the moment.

Neat! I hope you're feeling better - you didn't sound so good on the phone the other day.
I'm actually starting to clean through things and feeling like spinning again and getting the loom dressed. Wow! Something must be wrong with me! LOL!

Glad I was able to capture and share yesterday's sunrise with you, because today was back to a slow brightening of grey -- and rain. I feel for all of you in the deep freeze! We had our unusual spell of bitter cold (for here; single digits ABOVE 0) a month ago.

Kara, my ewe lamb isn't healing, and the vet is stumped. The first eye to be affected is bright and open, but has a large white spot; the second is still ulcerated and cloudy and painful, no matter what we try. And she STILL has the vaginitis or whatever is going on at the opposite end - going on two months! But until the eye problems, she was the most active sheep in the flock, bouncing around like popcorn.

Thanks, Kathy; still battling a nasty cold. Rick has gotten a little better; I'm worse after coughing kept me from sleeping much last night....

Lovely photographs.

Marshmallow says to tell you that she was a June lamb and that therefore, June lambs are always best. :-)
