Simmering Sunday

I have a formidable list of things that must be done before our trip, and one of them is to use the apples Rick brought home from a client awhile back. Today I processed one cannerful (seven quarts) of applesauce and have a crockpot of applebutter starting its slow simmer which will fill the house with the smell of warm spices for the next few days. I've got to pick up additional canning lids before I can do much more. Have canning lids gone up a lot the last couple of years in your neck of the woods?

The sauerkraut seems to be coming along nicely; that's something else that must be dealt with before we leave.

That's it for now from . . .

Nummmmy! I have apples to deal with also. I didn't even think of making apple butter... And BTW, I am going to add the "Animal Rescue Site" link to my blog. Thanks for sharing it!
