Thanksgiving

As in the act of giving thanks, not the holiday. :-)

Sue, all the way down in Australia, gave me an award! It is a beautiful award and doesn't even have any rules attached; I am truly honored. Thank-you, Sue!

Back in September I entered a contest on one of Loren's blogs for an MP3 player - and I won! The player didn't arrive until today, and as a peace offering for the time it took and for having to change the model awarded to something different, the company sent along a $15 iTunes gift card. My sister sent me an iTunes gift card for my birthday, so I get to have lots of fun shopping for songs!

Franjean did come in sound last night, so this morning I turned everyone (but Braveheart) out together again. For reasons known only to rutting rams, all was calm today - no frantic chasing with panicked fleeing. No "activity" was observed, so we'll have to wait for spring to see what Franjean produces with whom. More of THIS -along with her fabulous fleece, is what I hope for from Butter. She is just so wide and square in back! Franjean has been ordered to pass on nice, long toplines, polled genetics, and that captivating gulmoget pattern. What lambs are dancing in your dreams?

That's it for now from . . .

What a lovely post - and what a lovely award. I really like the idea that it doesn't come with any demands to pass it on to 29 other people. Enjoy your Sunday.

Congrats! Oh, Butter is wonderful isn't she?! Lots of lambs in my dreams with lots of color, patterns, and spots. Maybe even another half poll from my Hester as Blackberry's scurrs are so tiny, just a bit bigger than Braveheart's, she must be a poll carrier. Fabulous fleece would be nice. Correct confirmation would be nice too. The keepers will hopefully have the "friendly gene" though. :)

Well, now there will possibly be four more lambs dancing in my dreams.. blah.... Yes, Mr. Sprat (aided and abetted by rotten Rain) escaped into the main ewe flock yesterday. Oh, and Tabitha just happened to be in season too.... So much for cutting back. I'm planning to break up the group earlier now, so whomever is settled lambs and not going to worry about it.... Your Butter is very lovely, and I'm glad Franjean is sound.

Now that you have an MP3 player, see if your library offers downloadable audio books. Ours does and they are treated just like a checkout. Congratulions on both wins!

As long as my lambs look like little holstien cows and are healthy, then I'll be happy. Some really wide, nicely spaced horns would be wonderful, and of course good fleeces, okay and calm temperaments... well, with a bit of that lilac coloring would be good too. ;)
What exactly is gulgomet coloring anyway? If I spelled that right... LOL

Franjean, the ram I'm using this year, is a gulmoget, so scan through the recent posts and take a look at him. Lambs show the pattern more clearly; it consists of a dark (black, brown, grey, fawn, etc.) body with a very light belly that goes up under the tail and up the underside of the neck and chin (creating a "gully smile"), with light-colored face markings as well. Very striking, I think!

Oh my! I so covet little Butter! I just know she's going to have the most gorgeous lamb and I'll be covetting it, too! You do realize this is torture, don't you? LOL!

(I've asked and my husband flat refuses to pay shipping from the west coast to here for a lamb...such a spoil sport, isn't he?)

Congratulations on your award...Hubby just asked me if I'd like an MP3 player for christmas. I do love audio books and music - Is it something you will use often?
I have severe egg envy. my new hens still aren't laying...soon I hope.

I've tagged you for a "meme" on my blog. Hope you don't mind :)

Thanks for the explanation! I looked it up on Google and clicked the "Images." Very interesting and striking especially on lambs! :D
