Girls, girls, girls!

As I mentioned, my sister spent several days with us this week before taking the bus down to Medford yesterday to see her fiance. She brought the dress she found for me to wear as her attendant, and took these photos of me in it (notice she honored my "headless self-portrait" tradition - hee!). Wearing this number is going to take some getting used to for me, as it is by far the fanciest dress I've worn since my own wedding - and my wedding dress covered a lot more skin!

It took a week for the realization to sink in that as matron of honor, it is my duty to throw a party for the bride, and another day or so to realize that my only chance to do my duty was this week, while she was here. A flurry of phone calls and emails resulted in a small guest list of good friends who have gotten to know Kristine over the years. With a friend's helpful suggestions and Rick's cooperation, we even managed to make it a total surprise for the bride to be!
My friend Pam brought along her daughter Hannah to the shower. Hannah is such a tiny flurry of activity that I didn't get a good shot of her modeling her "raspberry sherbet" BSJ, but who cares when you can capture a moment like this?

That's it for now at . . .

Great dress; looks great on you even if you are headless. And Hannah, well what a doll.

You are an amazing matron of honor!!! The dress looks great - listen to the wise words of your husband. :) And Hannah, of course, is so, so adorable...

Great dress and great on you. Now you have to worry about what you wear and how it will tan your arms - ugh. Love little Hannah - she's got my granddaughter's zeal. I can never get enough of it.
