Fruit and flowers

Last night Rick helped me pick cherries, then I got to work pitting. My new cherry stoner works just dandy! I filled five trays in the dehydrator with pretty jewels....Twelve hours later they look like this. They have at least six more hours to shrink - I mean dry - before I end up with a pathetically little bag of dried cherries to put in the freezer for future use. I hope to fill the dehydrator with another batch of cherries on Sunday.

I'm tickled with my daylilies this year. I have some small plants in a semi-circle around the pink flowering cherry tree in front of the house that are giving me a few blooms this year (I alternated four yellow with three red Pardon Me).
Next year they should really come into their own, like the two bigger Fencing Master plants in a sloping bed on the south side of the house:
Morgan says, "I'd like to sample some of those fruits and flowers!"

That's it for now at . . .

Yum! I think you should give a bag full of cherries with every sheep you sell. :) Love you red daylilies, I need to get something other than the plain 'ol yellow I have around my house. Tammy

Michelle-

What type of dehydrator do you have? I have been shopping for one, and would love to hear your opinion...

Miss peach agrees with Morgan...we want those stunning daylilies and the cherries please!
No the car is not really stolen LOL! This is just a part of a fun way to tease his car club members into interest! He moved it to his friends house to restore it. It is a 1940's Ford. I am so sorry that yours was a stolen car...gosh what a bummer!
Have a wonderful weekend...talked about you to some family members yesterday and shared your story with them:))

The dehydrator is a NESCO American Harvest Gardenmaster Professional Dehydrator & Jerky Maker. It was on sale over Christmas at Cabela's (my dad got it for us) and this is only the second time we've used it. (The first time was on some salmon someone gave to Rick.) I must say, though (only having had a big, unwieldy homemade dryer to compare to), it is very easy to use and clean up, and can expand to 30 trays! It is 1000 watts and thus has faster drying times than many others. The only downside is the sound, but I imagine any dryer has a fan noise. I'd recommend it!

Morgan looks like one of your flowers! I've been shopping for dehydrators. Please tell us what you like and don't like about your's and what, in fact, it is. There's a big price range involved.

Actually, the little red is called "Pardon Me" and the last one is called "Fencing Master."
