Happy Birthday, Bella!

Two years ago today, Boulderneigh's very first lambs arrived. Bella's twin Bailey succumbed to a very fast pneumonia three weeks later; Bella stayed here and grew up to look much like her mother Rechel. (Bella is STILL available, by the way!)

Although I never saw Braveheart cover Rechel, I had hopes that she would once again lamb in mid-March, since more experienced shepherds have told me that, given the opportunity, each ewe tends lamb around the same time each year. I DO think she will lamb, I just don't know when. Want to venture a guess on her and the other two, who I DID see covered? You have until tomorrow midnight to enter my little contest (who, what and when); the person whose guess is closest to reality will get a set of photo notecards with their choice of subject (if you don't write notes, I'd be happy to send you an 8 1/2"x11" print of your choice).

Here are the ladies in waiting this morning at breakfast:
That's it for now at . . .

Hi Michelle,

Didn't the trade of Bella for the wether work out? That seemed like such a great solution...

No, it didn't work out, to my disappointment (and Braveheart's).

Would you please remove the jackets and shear those girls? THEN, I might hazard a guess!

;-)

I still wish that Bella could come live in the Bluff County. Unfortunately, I, like you, am trying to cut back on the number of ewes I have...not add another. She is SO beautiful though! And I miss having a grey fleece in my flock!

I can't believe nobody has snatched your beautiful, Bella up...

What size coats are your girls in now? Mine were in F's and looked like stuffed sausages - I finally gave up and removed the coats as the tips were matting.
The shearers I've talked to won't shear the girls since they will lamb next month...I was worried about it until we got 6 inches of snow!

I'd have to look to know for sure, but I think all three are in size E suits. Just remember; they were sheared last September!

I think the one on the far right is pregnant her sides are sticking out more than the others.

Charlotte is looking a like a water balloon when you put it down on a flat surface. She's oval!

Milehaus' guess is (having numbereed them from left to right) that #2 will give you twins on Easter Sunday. #3 will go Easter Monday and number 1 is good for Friday the 28th. Number 1 will give you twin ewe lambs and the other will have one of each.
