Shameless self-promotion (for a good cause)

In December, the shepherds of the NW Shetland Breeders Yahoo group threw together a benefit auction for Black Sheep Creamery, a small family sheep dairy and cheese-making operation decimated by the Chehalis, WA floods at the beginning of the month. Thanks to generous donors and shoppers, over $4000 was raised. And before the first auction was over, we agreed to hold a second benefit auction. Round Two got underway today.

Since the holidays are over and the shopping frenzy may have died down some, and since the Bloodhound print I donated for Round One didn't sell, I thought a little extra advertising wouldn't hurt. Below are the four prints of original scratchboard portraits I've done (all dogs; I didn't donate a second print of the Resting Foal) that I am donating to Round Two. If you know of anyone who might be interested in purchasing any of these for a good cause, pass along the link. Of course, there's LOTS of other goodies in the auction, many of them fiber-related, so check them out!

Of course, if you would like a custom portrait done, I can help you with that, too. :-)

That's it for now from . . .

No, I haven't tried sheep yet, although I've long contemplated the challenge of capturing curly hair/fiber. I work with a needle etching one hair at a time, and the medium is not very conducive to tightly curving lines.

A Corgi would make a very good subject indeed, Garrett! Just let me know when you want to give yourself a present that doesn't EAT!
